Let me just be the first to say that this was a crazy ambitious den meeting! I think everyone had a lot of fun (Luke rated this one a 10 and that's saying something because he was reduced to tears of frustration at one point during the meeting!), but boy, I had no idea this toolbox project would end up being so challenging! Wood was splitting, nails were bending the wrong way, dad's were running home to get power tools, and sawdust was flying everywhere!! The parents were definitely HANDS ON for this one!
Mike on double duty as always!
Luke sanded every inch of his boards while waiting patiently for his dad to help him.
I LOVE this photo of Mike and Hunter! So, so sweet!
The McClure's loaned us their wood burning tool, so the boys got to burn the name of whoever they were giving their boxes to on the sides. There are going to be some very touched Grandpa's (and a couple of moms) this Christmas!
Hayyan's mom, Saiqa, was very impressive tonight! She helped Hayyan with the entire toolbox and didn't need any help from the men folk AND she's never done anything like this before! So cool!
Did I mention that we produced a little bit of sawdust!? It was everywhere. I think at one point there were three dads vaccuming at once! We definitely practiced the art of 'Leave No Trace'!
