March Den Meeting

We started off this meeting with some knot tying and quickly moved outside for some flashlight games!  The boys had an awesome time running around the pitch black playground and field searching for their number card with only the help of their flashlight.  Once everyone found their card, we split up into two relay teams using the flashlight as our 'baton'.  Still after all that running around, the boys were still wired!  It was tough, but once we came inside they were able to sit still long enough to completely finish Achievement #12 (pages 100-106) which was all about courage.  You may want to reiterate different courage 'scenarios' with them so that this concept will stick with them.  We broke the boys up into teams of two and each of them were given a different requirement to read through and problem solve.  Then they had to perform their particular problem and act out how they thought it would be best to resolve it.  After each skit, we briefly discussed the resolution.  The boys did a great job.  You can initial and sign off on the following requirements within this achievement:  #12a, 12c, 12d, 12e, and 12f.

We finished up our meeting making these cute little cookie hamburgers (courtesy of Allrecipes.com).  In case you can't tell, they're made with two vanilla wafers (bun), a mini York peppermint patty (hamburger), green dyed coconut (lettuce), gummy fruit (pickles), and cherry flavored red pudding (ketchup).
