We had a great time at our Den Meeting on Monday! We worked on (and accomplished) all of Achievement 5! Alison Kruse (Matthew's mom) gave us a great idea to make marble mazes. The official name of this toy is 'Pig in the Pen' and it was the most popular toy in 1889! The idea is to put three marbles at the starting point and have all three of them end up at the center target. It's definitely a dexterity skill. To complete the maze the boys had to pound 49 nails in their board and then wrap the nails with rubber bands to create the maze. A big thank you also goes out to Skyler's dad (Mark) for donating and cutting each of the boards and also to Luke's dad (Wes) for edging, sanding and varnishing each one!
My attempt at teaching the boys about what each tool was named and what purpose it served... I think this was quite amusing to all of the parents in attendance!
