October 2011 Den Meeting: Citizenship

The focus for our October Den Meeting was Citizenship.  We talked a lot about the flag and its meaning.  The boys practiced hoisting and lowering the flag on a flagpole.  They also reviewed how to fold the flag properly.  We had first learned about this as Wolves.  I was very impressed that all of the boys remembered how to do this!  We also discussed what it means to be a good citizen of the United States of America.  The boys shared different ways in which they can show respect for the rights of others.  And, since it's the month of Halloween we made Googly-Eyed Frames!

Some of the boys showing off their works of art!
We also celebrated Nick and Hunter's 10th Birthday!  Happy Birthday Guys!

 Hayyan's masterpiece!

I am super excited to introduce Benjamin as our new Den Chief!  We're thrilled to have him be a part of our Den.  He will be assisting me in our Den Meetings with all sorts of things (activities & planning), but most importantly he will be helping to set a good example for our boys through attitude and uniforming.  He added a lot of good feedback regarding Citizenship based on his experiences with scouting.  He even conducted a uniform inspection!
