Mother's Day Party

Our May Den Meeting was CRAZY FUN!  The boys seemed to have an extraordinary amount of energy!  By the way, huge thanks goes out to Anna for all of her help today!  The boys and I had been talking about throwing a party for all of the moms for the past couple of months.  Well, we thought that a few days before Mother's Day was the perfect time to do it!  The boys had made gifts for the moms at the March Den Meeting and today was all about getting the food prepared and the decorations up and putting the finishing touches on the party.  The boys were totally in charge of making this event happen.  They did an awesome job of hosting and taking care of their moms!  They started by making cards (shhhhhh!  this is supposed to be a surprise!)... isn't this first photo hilarious?!
Then they got going on dipping the strawberries in chocolate...
Then we moved on to making our chenille flowers to be placed at each place setting...
Some of them actually looked like flowers...
And some of them looked like aliens!
Here are the gifts that they presented to the moms.  They are recipe card holders.  The boys wrapped them in tissue and put them in gift bags.
They had so much fun decorating the table.  One of the boys had the idea of placing the napkins in the wine glasses... I thought this was supercute and clever!
They even decorated each of the chairs!
Here's a close-up of one of the place settings.  Each boy made a place card for their mom as well as a 'sentiment tag'.  They wrote something that they loved about their moms.  My favorite one was by Hunter (or was it Nicholas?).  He said something like, "I love my mom because she makes hamburger."  :)
